Kiev – Special

Special, Kiev, Ukraine, October 2021
+ Explanation
Is it the Halloween period which was approaching but the storefronts of restaurants, stores were all ready for this holiday. For historical foundations, the Celtic feast of Samain, whose origins date back over 2,500 years, is considered the ancestor of Halloween.
I was also surprised by the modernism of this city. I have already talked about paying with a credit card directly when going through the turnstiles for the metro. But you have automatic terminals that allow you to buy your transport tickets, add credit to your phone, … Finally, for traffic, traffic lights whose support is itself studded with LEDs for complete visibility of its color. There are even light strips at certain pedestrian crossings.
The Story of the Plastic Fork Cat Photo: This is a whimsical piece of public art created by Ukrainian artist Constantin Skretutsky, known for his use of unusual materials. Cats have been very useful for centuries in controlling mice and rat infestations. Today, cats participate in the fight against another form of attack, that of plastic.
In the photos outside Kiev, it is worth noting a particular photo, that of “the mothers’ wish bench”. You have to tie a colored ribbon (blue or yellow) and make a wish for your mother.

+ Order of photos

This page consists of 6 distinct parts following the order of the photos:
Special : Special photos, classics, including supervision before the changing of the guard in Parliament. You will be able to see a video of 2 minutes. The first is a bit special since it is a cat in a plastic fork, which I mentioned above.
Maria Maria Primatchenko : Posters representing works by this Ukrainian artist. The children’s games that follow should be inspired by these works. Some games are also used to make music like the colorful pig.
Bessarabian Market : A large covered market with the usual stalls, if not the sales of caviar in addition. It is a must see market when visiting Kiev.
Restaurant : Storefronts and restaurants, with interior photos. The interior of the Pervak restaurant is beautiful. It is made up of several rooms. In another restaurant, Place de l’Arsenalna (to the left of the metro), you will also see a giant barbecue, the plate of which turns. The special light comes from a nearby tea room. Finally, a typical cafeteria in Ukraine that I really enjoyed, inexpensive meals and a very nice decoration.
Outside Kiev : I was lucky enough to be able to visit a former summer camp outside of Kiev. The houses are being renovated to accommodate people in difficulty.
