Petra, Jordan, October 2018
BEAUTIFUL, I only have this word that comes to my mind. I stayed only 4 hours but I could see many things. All these funerary tombs were carved in sandstone and granite rocks.
I was very lucky to have a French speaking guide. This allowed me to make the most of the explanations because, even if my English remains operational, I would still have difficulty following the explanation in English.
I can tell you that seeing these monuments on television has nothing to do with what you feel like being in front of these wonderful monuments. We feel really small. What is amazing is that the city was destroyed by an earthquake but the graves are still there even if we see that they suffered during the past centuries.
