Vannes, July 2010
I had the opportunity to visit Vannes during the historic celebrations of Vannes. They retrace the great historical periods of the city of Morbihan. The festivities take place over two days in July and have been held every year since 1986. The event is an opportunity to commemorate the important periods in the history of Vannes, by highlighting the characters and facts that have marked the life of the city. It is also the place of medieval animations: jousting, ballads, concerts. Each year, a different theme is honored.
This event is really a moment of pleasure to see walking in the streets of the cities these people in period costume. Troops also come from abroad as Italian flag throwers.
The theme of 2010 was the visit of Francis I, King of France, and his wife Claude, Duchess of Brittany, to the city in 1518.
