Aix en Provence, France, May 2017
With Alain, my professional photographer childhood friend, we decided to go to the city that rocked our 18 years. At the time, Aix was the exit to make a terrace on the Cours Mirabeau. Our occupation, to admire the pretty students, especially foreign ones. The atmosphere remains the same despite the years...

The Cours Mirabeau is already a splendid place, but you have to stroll through the old town. It is teeming with "mascarons", these decorations adorning the buildings in the form of human figures, often frightening because their function was to ward off evil spirits to prevent them from entering the house. Magnificent atlanteans and caryatids also adorn some facades. Atlanteans represent human figures whose function is to support an architrave instead of a column or a pillar. The name Atlante evokes the myth of Atlas who carries the sky on his shoulders. The commercial court on the Cours Mirabeau or the Vendôme pavilion are magnificent examples.
If you're lucky, we can see the transhumance again, back to Aix for the show. It is a privileged moment for those who do not know.
