I was very lucky to have a French-speaking guide. This allowed me to make the most of the explanations because, even if my English remained operational, I would still have had difficulty following the explanations in English.
I can tell you that seeing these monuments on television has nothing to do with what it feels like to be in front of these splendid monuments. We feel really small. What is amazing is that the city was destroyed by an earthquake but the tombs are still there even if we see that they suffered during the past centuries.
